Arijita Ghosh is an active member of AWIS-PHL. She is currently a postdoctoral researcher at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. This year, she participated in a Science Slam competition organized by the Jefferson College of Life Sciences and the Graduate Student Association where selected speakers gave 5 minutes presentations summarizing their research in an edible and simplified form to a large audience of non-science background attendees. This event took place on March 7, 2024, at the Venture Cafe, University Science Center, Philadelphia. Arijita presented her work on fatty liver disease and mitochondria in a talk entitled “Fatty Liver Disease, Mitochondria and Gossip” for which she won third place, a certificate, and a cash award.
